Makro UK, a division of the global Metro Group, began trading in the United Kingdom in May 1971 at Eccles in Manchester and since then has grown to operate a network of 30 stores across the United Kingdom including Northern Ireland with a turnover of around £1 billion.
Makro serves all businesses, especially the catering professional and has established itself as the country’s most recognisable wholesaler, synonymous with quality, choice and value.
Over the past 3 years VRC has worked closely with Makro, providing 24/7 CCTV monitoring to ensure the protection of their staff, premises and stock across their national estate.
Utilising the latest in CCTV remote monitoring technology, VRC have prevented many situations escalating into serious crimes. Each Makro site is comprehensively covered through a combination of CCTV, motion detection and an audio facility all of which have been integrated with and now controlled by VRC.
VRC’s dedicated and licensed Operators have a comprehensive knowledge of Makro’s business processes understanding how the sites should operate both in and out of hours, thereby enabling them to quickly identify any unscheduled or erroneous activity. It is the Operator’s continued diligence and ability to identify what is and what is not acceptable behaviour that makes the successful monitoring of such large sites possible.
